GEM-3 Broadband Programmable Electromagnetic Sensor
The GEM-3 produces inphase and quadrature data at each frequency. Inphase data is sensitive to earth's electrical conductivity and magnetic susceptibility. Therefore, over highly conductive and/or magnetic soil, the inphase data is often too sensitive to sensor height to be a stable detection indicator.
GEM-3R Multifrequency Electromagnetic Sensor
The GEM-3R is a cart-mounted GEM-3 with a rectangular transmitter. It is specifically designed for UXO survey by single operator on foot. This new model features a large transmitter (1 m x 0.75 m) for deep penetration, real-time screen display on a PDA, and rugged construction for rough ground conditions. Everything, including electronics and battery, is self contained on the cart, leaving the operator completely free of external luggage or tangled cables.
GEM 5 Broadband EM Sensor Array for Detecting
The GEM 5 array is a vehicle-mounted or vehicle-towed gradiometer sensor for rapid ground coverage. It has a transmitter in the middle straddled by two identical receiver coils below and above. The difference between the two receiver coils constitutes the signal.
GEM 5B Broadband EM Sensor Array for Detecting
Aeroquest Sensortech has developed a vehicle-towed, electromagnetic (EM) gradiometer array, called GEM-5B, that may be used for geologic mapping, as well as detecting/characterizing manmade underground structures like clandestine tunnels. It can also passively detect loaded powerlines by measuring background EM spectra that may emanate from lighting, ventilation, and water-pumping related to tunnel operation.
